| RENEWABLE
ENERGY
We are using GFX (gravity
film exchange) systems to recapture heat from waste water. As a contingency
we have plumbed the roof for solar hot water should this be cost effective in
the future. We have also wired the roof to be prepared for solar PV (photovoltaic)
electricity as soon as the price comes down and the cost of power goes up. The
two apartments face south and should gain much benefit from their solar orientation.
COMMUNICATIONS
Building using different methods, materials and technologies requires good communication.
It is important that everyone understands what is happening, and that questions
are raised if there are any doubts or uncertainties. To that end, if you have
any creative comments, questions and/or suggestions please email us at info@cedarcorner.com.
We welcome and encourage an open dialog with anyone interested in our project.
From the fly ash in the concrete foundation to the recycled content of the steel
roof, we are all learning together, as we work to build Cedar Corner in an environmentally
sound way.
